General Notes:
From Pat Beatty - George Clifford. Uncle Clifford was in the RAF during WW11 and afterwards worked in electronics. He loved tinkering and built his own motorbike in our kitchen. It took him 3 years. He rode it back and forth to work in St. Annes for the rest of his working life. He never married and died in the 1960's. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Gladys May Webster, written by Vivian Ray Lee George Clifford Woodhead was born 7 March 1914 with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was a radio electrical engineer and never dated any girls, therefore never marrying. He had the same friends from being a small boy, Derek Lole, Joe Thorley and Arthur Ingham. He was in the Royal Air Force during World War 2 as a Radar Technician. His father Ernest rented 59 Addison Crescent, Blackpool from the council in 1920 and after his demise his mother continued to rent it. Cliff took over after his mother died, living alone until he contracted lung cancer in 1971. At that time his sister Gladys moved in to look after him. He died January 12 1973 and even though the family had been 53 years in that council house and never missed any rent, a week's notice was given to get out on his death.
