THRESHING MILL OWNER DEAD - The death took place suddenly from influenza, at his residence, Sheriffmuirlands,
Causewayhead, on Wednesday of last week, of Mr Alex Bean, threshing machine proprietor. Mr Bean, who, was about forty-five years of age, was the elder son of the late Mr Andrew Bean, Causewayhead, who established the business which has now a wide connection and introduced the first traction engine into Scotland. On the death of his father, deceased, along with a younger brother, carried on the business and was widely known throughout the whole district around Stirling and Alloa. He was unmarried.
