The biggest surprise of the diamond wedding day of yesterday for Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ludgate Woodhead, of 410 Farrenden Street, Pretoria, was a telegram or con-gratulations from the Queen. They are seen above reading the telegram which was one of several Including one from the Governor-General. Dr. Jansen. Mr. Woodhead came to South Africa In 1894 and five years later married Mary Walton, also from England. Mr. Woodhead yesterday gave this recipe for 60 years of married life.- "Take it easy" One of their sons, Dennis was killed racing at the Lord Howe Circuit in 1940. Their other children are Mr. F. R. Wood-head. of Durban. Mr. Hylton Woodhead, of Johannesburg. Mrs. Florence Boulter, of Salisbury, and Mrs. Thelma Savage, of Pretoria.
