THRESHING MILL OWNER DEAD - The death took place suddenly from influenza, at his residence, Sheriffmuirlands,
Causewayhead, on Wednesday of last week, of Mr Alex Bean, threshing machine proprietor. Mr Bean, who, was about forty-five years of age, was the elder son of the late Mr Andrew Bean, Causewayhead, who established the business which has now a wide connection and introduced the first traction engine into Scotland. On the death of his father, deceased, along with a younger brother, carried on the business and was widely known throughout the whole district around Stirling and Alloa. He was unmarried.

Jane married Andrew Bean, son of Alexander Bean and Jane Mitchell, on 7 Dec 1875 in Kincardine by Doune. (Andrew Bean was born on 4 Dec 1841 in Parish of Logie, Perthshire, Scotland and died on 19 Nov 1918 in Sheriffmuirlands, Causewayhead, Stirling, Scotland.)
