Francina -- Herbst -- Peter. Look how the thorn trees have grown in what was the back yard, swept every day.
This is the back of the house, pantry and butter wrapping on left. Centre door to kitchen with wood stove where the chimney is and the right hand window to oom Gillie’s workshop and store.

Gideon at the kitchen door. The well was to the right of the picture close to a big tree. Many a time a snake was hauled up in the bucket.
Baboons slept in the Kraans at the top of the hill plus it was a favourite spot for leopards.

This looks like the Dairy where the milk was separated with an old hand cranked separator.

What a wonderful childhood I spent here with a loving and caring family
The dam near the house and close to "Die Kraal". There were two dams further up that little valley and one year the second one broke its wall during a cloud burst which caused this dam wall to burst sweeping years of cow dung towards the house, across the road and through the chicken pen killing a lot of them.

Lobatsi in 1996. I remember it as a main street and a railway line and about twenty houses, two shops a post office/ hotel/ station/ two tennis courts and on the other side of the railway line the Police Barracks and jail plus a golf course Dad built.

Baisellas Kloof (not sure of the spelling) I understand it was named after a big bull elephant that fell down it into the pool below.
